Let’s start with one of the most famous ones, Miradouro de SΓ£o Pedro de AlcΓ’ntara. This viewpoint is located on SΓ£o Roque Hill, close to Elevador da GlΓ³ria. You will enjoy a mesmerising view over central Lisbon, and on the other hill, you can spot the castle, SΓ£o Jorge. There is often a market at the miradouro where you can buy souvenirs or something to drink. Enjoy the view from the fountain or sit at the nearby cafe. During the day and at night, this panoramic view of the entire city is fantastic!

The panoramic view from SΓ£o Jorge Castle is so stunning because you can walk along the castle walls. It makes it one of the best Lisbon viewpoints, especially during sunset.
The castle can be busy during the day, so visiting later is excellent. This is also when many peacocks will come out and say hello! A great spot to see Lisbon from above! Entrance to SΓ£o Jorge Castle is β¬ 15.00 per person and β¬ 7.50 for children between 13 and 25.Β
How to get thereΒ β Bus 737 travels to Arco do Castelo, close to the entrance of SΓ£o Jorge Castle. Tram 28 and 12 stop nearby, but it is still a short walk uphill.

Parque Eduardo VII
One of the most popular miradouros in Lisbon is the one at the top of Parque Eduardo VII. The park is located in the heart of Lisbon and overlooks Avenida da Liberdade, down to the river Tagus. The park is also a great place to chill, so bring a picnic blanket to enjoy the views from Miradouro do Parque Eduardo VII. Parque Eduardo VII has many events throughout the year, such as the book fair, Feira do Livro de Lisboa, and Wonderland Lisboa during Christmas.
How to get thereΒ β The nearest metro station (blue line) is Parque. Disembark at SΓ£o SebastiΓ£o at El Corte InglΓ©s to enjoy the upper gardens. This is a true hidden gem with fewer tourists.Β

Parque Torel
Another hidden spot in Lisbon is Parque Torel. It’s a favourite of locals who even come sunbathing in the park. Jardim do Torel has a small swimming pool, but the park also offers one of the best viewpoints in Lisbon!Β

The statue was inspired by Rio’s Christ the Redeemer and has many similarities. There is a ground-floor chapel, and you can visit the observation deck inside.
The statue is worth a visit, and the views over Lisbon are lovely! You can see the 25 de Abril Bridge from up close and the Tower of BelΓ©m far away. To view Lisbon from this side of the Tagus River is just as spectacular!
How to get thereΒ β Take the ferry from Cais do SodrΓ© to Cacilhas and continue to SantuΓ‘rio do Cristo Rei by tram. You can also follow the footpath along the river, where you find the park Jardim do Rio, the restaurant Ponto Final and an abandoned factory at the end of the path.Β

Pilar 7 Lisbon Bridge Experience

How to get thereΒ β Tram 12 and Tram 28 stop in front of the monastery. From Santa ApolΓ³nia Station, it’s a short but steep walk uphill.

Amoreiras 360ΒΊ Panoramic View
One of the best viewpoints in Lisbon is hidden in a shopping mall! As the name mentioned, at Amoreiras 360ΒΊ Panoramic View, you will enjoy an incredible view over the city. Tickets cost β¬ 5.00 per person, but for a 360-degree view over Lisbon, it’s a small price to pay.
How to get thereΒ β From Marques De Pombal, you can take bus 723, 748, or 753. Rato, on the yellow line, is the nearest metro station.

PanorΓ’mico de Monsanto
Go on an adventure in the biggest park in Lisbon, Monsanto, and discover PanorΓ’mico de Monsanto. This was once a high-end restaurant with a view, but it’s been abandoned for years. PanorΓ’mico de Monsanto is not always open, so check the graffitied site before your departure. But even when closed, walking in Parque Florestal de Monsanto is amazing, and from the walkways, you enjoy some fantastic views over the river.

But you can also opt for a ride in the Telecabine Lisboa, which runs between a north and south station. When you arrive at the north station, you can enjoy a drink at the rooftop bar at the Myriad Hotel and visit the Vasco da Gama Tower!
How to get thereΒ β You’ll reach Passeio das TΓ‘gide by foot in 10 minutes from Oriente Station. From downtown Lisbon, you can take bus 728.

How to explore the seven hills of Lisbon
As you can imagine, all viewpoints over Lisbon are above sea level. Thankfully, there are many ways to visit them all! A popular way to explore the city is by tuk-tuk. You will find street vendors offering excursions, but checking prices before online is good. This way, you can even arrange a hotel pick-up! Tuk-tuks are perfect if you have little time in Lisbon, but if you want to explore yourself, this is certainly possible.
There are many free escalators and lifts that will bring you to the hilltops. Check this article, including maps, on how to reach the viewpoints, mostly for free. Public transport is another option to get up the hills. Buying one-off tickets for funiculars and Tram 28 is more expensive, so a day pass will really help. We always love to head high in a new city and find the viewpoints. It gives us a good overview and helps plan our wandering. We have enjoyed several of these great viewpoints in Lisbon. What a great list. This gives me an idea of making a day of miradouro hopping. The legs will be sore at the end of the day, but what a day it would be. I haven’t been to all the viewpoints, but so far, my fav have been Miradouro da Graca and SantuΓ‘rio do Cristo Rei.
