Frequently asked questions

Can you stay hidden during the proposal?

For sure! I’ll arrive early, choose a discreet position, and we’ll agree on a simple signal so you can focus on the moment.

Do you help plan the proposal location and timing?

Yes. If you’re unsure where to propose, I’ll suggest spots based on your style, crowd levels, and the best light.

How do we communicate before the proposal?

Once your date is booked, we’ll stay in touch as your proposal gets closer. A few days before the big moment, we’ll reconnect to confirm timing, location, and any last details. I’m always reachable if plans change or nerves kick in, so you’re not left guessing on the day.

What if it rains?

Thankfully, Lisbon is a very sunny city! But if it rains, I’ll suggest covered alternatives in Lisbon, or we can reschedule if the weather is unsafe or extreme.

How far in advance should I book?

You’re welcome to book as early as you like. For proposals between spring and autumn, booking around two to three months in advance is ideal, especially if you have a specific date, location, or time of day in mind. That said, I always try to keep some flexibility for last-minute plans, so feel free to reach out even if your proposal is coming up soon.

Will you help with posing afterwards?

Yes. After the proposal, I’ll guide you into natural poses so it feels relaxed, not awkward.

Can you photograph proposals in Sintra, Cascais, or other locations?

Yes. I photograph proposals in Sintra and Cascais regularly, and I’m always open to travelling further for unique locations and creative ideas. If you have something a little different in mind, tell me your plans! I love working with couples who want to do something special, and I’m always up for creative proposal ideas.

When is the best time of day for proposal photos?

Early morning is ideal if you’re hoping for beautiful light and quieter streets, especially in popular areas of Lisbon. Golden hour, about an hour before sunset, is also a lovely option for warm light and a more relaxed feel. The best timing can vary by location, so we’ll always discuss what works best for your chosen spot.

Can you help with props like champagne, flowers, or a picnic?

Yes. On request and depending on the location, I can help arrange simple proposal extras such as bubbles or champagne, non-alcoholic drinks, flowers, or a small picnic setup. These are optional add-ons and come at an additional cost, which we’ll discuss during planning, so everything fits your idea. If you have your own props, feel free to bring it!

What should we wear for a proposal photoshoot?

Wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. The location can make a difference, so I’ll always take that into account when helping you plan. For example, Praia da Ursa can be explored barefoot, but you’ll need good shoes to get there, while Alfama’s cobblestone streets aren’t ideal for high heels. If you’d like photos in heels or a different outfit, you can always change once we’re in the right spot. You’re welcome to change outfits, time permitting!

How will we receive our photos?

You’ll receive your photos in a private online gallery, where you can view, download, and share them with friends and family. The gallery remains available for up to one year after your proposal, so there’s no rush.

What happens if we need to reschedule or cancel?

Proposal sessions are date-sensitive and require advance planning. Rescheduling is possible with at least 30 days’ notice, subject to availability. Cancellation and refund terms depend on how close the request is to your session date and whether any non-refundable costs have already been incurred.

If the weather is unsafe or conditions aren’t suitable for a proposal, I’ll always try to reschedule. If that’s not possible, a full refund will be offered, minus any non-refundable costs already incurred, such as travel or pre-arranged extras.
